Rights of access
Hearing Dogs have the same legal rights as Guide
Dogs for the Blind.
They can legally accompany their owner into all
places used by the public and onto any form of
public transport. This includes shops, shopping
centres, hotels, motels, restaurants, as well as
taxis, buses, planes and trains.

other end of the leash!
Hearing Dogs must
obey dog control laws and be under the control
of their handler at all times, the same as any
other dog.
If a Hearing Dog
handler contravenes a law or commits an offence,
then they are subject to the same processes of
the law as anyone else.
