from Helen Keller "Will you not help me hasten the day
when there shall be no preventable blindness; no little
deaf, blind child untaught."
The photo of the plaque does not do it justice. The plaque
is A4 size. It is a mirrored brass plate on a bevelled edge
timber backing with wall mountings.
The images
are laser etched onto the plaque with words of your
choosing. Each fellowship is numbered and Lions Hearing Dogs
will mount the list of Fellowships issued on its web site.
Where required other logos may be added.
The cost of a
Helen Keller Fellowship is $1000.00.
Orders can be
placed by completing the application in this brochure.
Please ensure
your spelling and wording is correct (particularly with
telephone orders). Plaques will be despatched by mail so
allow time for delivery.
Helen is shown here with
her teacher Anne Sullivan who taught her how to speak.
Picture taken
in 1898 when Helen on
the left was 18 years old.
Helen and Anne
formed a life long friendship and Helen always referred to
Anne as Teacher. Helen was not born deaf and blind - her
disabilities were a result of an illness suffered when she
was 19 months old.

"Once I knew only darkness and stillness...my life was
without past or future...but a little word from the fingers
of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness, and
my heart leaped to the rapture of living.
